Bullet list?

  • My electric company gave everyone 6 new floresent lightbulbs. For free. Which equals out to what? Like $20 in lightbulbs. Score! They are also providing energy efficiency audits for a “nominal fee” that includes some kind of kit.
  • Does anyone remember the Railroad Killer from 1999? I live in the country less then half a mile from train tracks. I was 14 and it was terrifying. Discovery Channel is featuring the story on FBI Files, I didn’t even know the half of how bad this guy was, but I remember how huge of a story it was.
  • My tummy is quite upset.

And a bit of politics for good measure:

Did anyone else hear about the McCain supporter who was mugged and had a B carved in her face by an Obama supporter? Of course the B is backwards, which of course would look correct in the reflection of a mirror, so I have a hard time believing this isn’t just someone trying to incite a violent reaction from Obama supporters. Edit: Police are now saying she was indeed a fake and will face charges. I hope she gets herself some help, mental health isn’t a joke and neither is creating a story like this. Did she honestly think this was going to win McCain votes with this?

Why can’t we all get along? Why do we have to be so vocal about our every little bit of our political beliefs? I remember when Clinton was re-elected, being told that it wasn’t polite to talk about who someone votes for. Why? Because it’s divisive. Can’t it just be black and white (absolutely not pun intended), I support so-and-so and you support the other and that’s it. Why so much hate? Since when did we lose the ability to work together for the common good? Has everyone forgotten that united we stand and divided we fall? With the country in the state it is, is it so hard to believe that we are falling?

I have been having a hard time blogging. The last significant personal blog entry I made on jenn.nu was just about a week ago. But I’m getting there. I’ve done some blog entries on a few other blogs, and I’m catching up on email. I think my biggest problem is that I do so much writing for my job (freelance writer, I do a lot of SEO articles and webpage content), I get to burnt out to do anything for my own pleasure and fun.

My electric company sent a guy out to put up window film on our windows, insulate our AC units (obviously those are coming out since it’s cold now!) and replace all of our regular light bulbs with the florescent ones. We kept everything but the window film… it made our living room horribly dark!

And that McCain supporter? Wow, talk about bat shit crazy. Hopefully she does wind up getting some help!
