A Bit of Ranting

If you would rather not view my thoughts on politics, come back tomorrow. Just so it’s known I’m an Independent. I’m Moderate. I sit on the fence about the war, abortion, and I’m not an economist so this year as I’ve been following the race I’m looking at whether these people understand the problems this country is facing, and whether they can get us out of this mess that the past few Presidents have got us in.

Here’s my rants:

  • With the latest Wall St. government bailout, I’d just like to ask as a struggling small business owner: Where the hell is my bailout? Don’t pee your pants laughing at that one.
  • Why with the current crisis, are politicians playing the blame game? What the hell are you going to do to fix it? I don’t care who is at fault, frankly I don’t understand how either party is at fault. If a business fails, isn’t the business at fault?
  • Why are political ads full of half-truths, barely truths, and lies? How is that supposed to make Americans feel comfortable?
  • What is so hard about hitting up a non-partisan website like factcheck.org instead of just blindly following the media? I’m not implying bias, I know that tends to ruffle feathers, but seriously? I’m so sick of hearing the same old lines from political commentators that I know aren’t true. The McCain $5 Million controversy started as a joke, from factcheck.org, again:

Obama asked why McCain would “define middle-class as someone making under five million dollars a year”? Actually, McCain meant that comment as a joke, getting a laugh and following up by saying, “But seriously …”

He also went on to say that he knew that people would be all over the quote, why did Obama take that bait?

  • I’m thankful that people have finally dropped the “Obama is really a Muslim” thing, but now they are on to saying he isn’t a naturally born citizen. He is. Let’s get back to the issues.

I truely hope I didn’t offend anyone, these are just some thoughts. Here’s a little bit on my political history, or you could peruse a previous post.

  • I was a Bush Baby, my mom totally had me in the bag for Bush. I voted for him in 2004, the first year I could vote. I am not part of the 30% that still supports him. I’m also not of the 9% that supports Congress. Excuse me, but how could you just leave our country hanging on an energy crisis to take a vacation?
  • In 2004, I also took notice to Obama. Oh my, that speach he gave at the DNC? Phenomenal.
  • In 2006, or thereabouts, I started losing faith in Bush. The war had gone on for far too long, and I was just completely disappointed in the man I elected.
  • In 2007, I was praying that the election would come down to Guiliani and Obama. I thought that we would be in a great position with either of them.
  • Also in 2007, as I was watching the debates and the huge fights between Clinton and Obama, I became disenchanted with Obama. I agreed with her, how could this newbie be ready to lead the country?

Early this year I put my support behind Hilary Clinton. Unfortunately I had already missed my chance to vote in the primaries.

I’m still not sure which one of these goobers can help us, I’ve got a pretty good idea who I’m going to vote for but I’m waiting until the debates to make my final decision. I’m not totally against writing my own name in.
